The 2024-25 school year is off to a great start! We have almost completed all 1st semester 9th grade literature library orientations. It has been fun to meet so many new Buccaneers!

The library has been bustling with laptop repair kiosk tickets, assigning laptops to new students, helping new students log into all things CCSD, and resetting passwords, and much more. Please remember to restart your laptop weekly and run updates! This is crucial to keep your laptop working at its best.

Don’t forget to get a daily digital lunch pass if you would like to come into the library during your lunch period. Directions are posted below, outside the library, above water fountains around school, and in CTLS under library announcements.

Spring Semester (even though it’s quite cold outdoors) is here! Make sure to follow the Allatoona Library Instagram account @allatoonalibrary and read announcements on CTLS to stay in the know about all things Toona Library as we will have lots of new makerspace activities throughout the semester. Be on the lookout for new reading promotions and some special events.

Library Hours are 7:15-3:45 Monday-Friday as usual. Cobb Laptop distribution is 7:15-8:20 Monday- Friday. Students may enter a laptop repair request ticket at the kiosk anytime during the day.

Reminders: You do not need a pass to visit the library before school. Just sign into Library Trac when you arrive and select “in library before school” as your reason. You do not have to list a teacher in Library Trac when visiting before school. Once the bell rings for 1st block, you must have a pass from your teacher and will add that teacher to your Library Trac login as you sign in. If you would like to visit the library during lunch, digital or paper passes are available. Please don’t hesitate to ask for help if needed!

Remember the Allatoona Library Resources section in CTLS for help with things such as MLA formatting, APA formatting, Sora login, CDL, etc.

With the holidays quickly approaching, don’t forget about Sora! Sora offers free audio and eBooks, available to you 24/7. Happy Holidays and Happy Reading!

We now have a subscription to JSTOR for Allatoona students and staff! This database will be especially useful for our British Literature and AP Literature students.

We are off to a fabulous start for the 2023-2024 school year! Library orientations are well underway and it has been great to meet so many 9th graders! It is also wonderful to have our upperclassmen come in for book check out or just to say hello. We love our Bucs!

Media Staff members have assigned around 100 Cobb laptops to new students and helped countless others with other technology needs. The repair request kiosk is located in the library if your Cobb laptop needs repairs. Just enter a ticket, leave your laptop with us and it will be returned to you in class once Mrs. Eubanks has worked her magic.

Our next meeting is Wednesday, September 21 at 7:45 AM for our morning group and 3:30 PM for the afternoon group. Both meetings will take place in the media center Reference Room! We will be discussing The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue.

Our October book selection is The Song of Achilles. Meeting date TBD.

Our November book selection is An Abundance of Katherines. Meeting date TBD.

For December, we will not have a book choice but will have a holiday party! Party will take place after school and date TBD!
